TRIBES
At Fairmount, respect for other people, senses of community and tradition is a strong part of our school culture. One way that is demonstrated and taught, is through the TRIBES agreement, whose goal is "to assure the healthy development of every child so that each one has the knowledge, skills and resiliency to be successful".
TRIBES is taught to students, staff and parents in classrooms, on the playground, at the morning community circle, and at PTA meetings.
TRIBES is a process, a way to establish a positive culture for learning throughout the school community. Fairmount is known for its strong community; many feel that this comes from the school's dedication to TRIBES as a way to help students understand each other and work through any problems that may come up.
