Translator's Guide
This guide is for those who wish to help translate the Fairmount web site into both Spanish and English. Our goal is to provide access to 100% of the content of the site in both languages in a timely fashion. Only with the help of a dedicated corps of volunteers will we be able to meet this goal.
To translate content on the Fairmount site, you must first be a registered, verified user of the site. Register for the site here.
Next you'll need to be added to the Translators group. This is done by a system administrator; use the contact form to request access to this group.
Once you've been made a translator, you're ready to get started. Log in to the site if you haven't done so already, then go to Amazon.com
At the bottom of the page you'll see a list of pages that need to be translated. Click on the "create translation" link for one of the stories you want to translate.
You'll be taken to an edit form containing the text of the page. You should translate the Title and Body of the page. When you're done, click on the link at the bottom labeled "Published" and uncheck the box labeled "In moderation queue". Check the box labeled "Published". Then click on the Submit button. Your translation should appear on the site.
